Thomas H. Dahlborg

A native of Brockton, Massachusetts, (home of the undefeated heavy weight
champion Rocky Marciano), Tom and his family moved to Southern Maine in
1999. He lives there with his bride Darlene (a brilliant and compassionate
registered nurse) and three children: Samantha (24 - a former Miss Maine USA
and current signed model, graphic designer and PR professional (be sure to
ask Tom about attending modeling school with Samantha)), Tommy aka The Big
Kid (22 - a financial analyst who is also in the midst of developing his own
servant leader ministry), and Haylee (20 - a world traveler and future
history teacher); and their beloved Papillon pup, Gabriel (9).

With more than 30 years of experience leading and serving in healthcare, Tom
also volunteers for a wide range of non-profits and loves his time coaching
young men’s basketball.

He is a recognized national writer and speaker.

Tom cares deeply about positioning individuals, teams, and communities to
achieve their mission while living their values and cherishes the
opportunity to engage in meaningful and impactful ways.

He is the author of the new book, The Big Kid and Basketball … and the
lessons he taught his Father & Coach.

Early next year (2019) he expects to publish his healthcare book, From Heart
to Head and Back Again … a journey through the healthcare system, about
his experiences as both a patient who was told he would never work again and
as a health leader with a mission to fix the broken healthcare system.

Tom co-authored the paper, Partnering with Parents and Families to Provide
Safer Care: Seeing and Achieving Safer Care through the Lens of Patients and
Families with Dale Ann Micalizzi and Hannah Zhu, MD.

And his poem Warrior Heart was published in the book, Warrior Soul … a
journal to inspire your fiercely whole self.

Tom is also honored to be an essay reviewer and judge for both the Arnold P.
Gold Foundation and the Patients’ View Institute.
