Maureen Milliken

Maureen Milliken has been News Editor for the daily newspapers in Augusta and Waterville, Maine, since 2011 and recently became city editor for the Morning Sentinel in Waterville. She grew up in Augusta and worked for a variety of newspapers in Maine, Massachusetts and New Hampshire as both a reporter and editor, before returning to Maine. She is a graduate of the College of the Holy Cross, in Worcester, Mass., class of 1983.

The Bernie O’Dea mystery series, which is set in Franklin County, Maine, reflects not only her love for all that is Maine, but also her lifelong affection for the newspaper industry, drawing on her experiences as a reporter in northern New England, and fascination, of course, with the darker side of life. The first in the series, Cold Hard News, debuted in 2015 and No News is Good News is due out July 2016. She lives in central Maine.
