Maria Padian

Maria Padian is the author of three novels for young adults, all published by Alfred A. Knopf Books for Young Readers: Brett McCarthy: Work in Progress (2008), which received a Maine Literary Award and Maine Lupine Honor Award and was selected as an American Library Association Best Book for Young Adults and an Association of Booksellers for Children New Voices Pick; Jersey Tomatoes Are the Best (2011); and Out of Nowhere (2013.)

A graduate of Middlebury College (BA) and the University of Virginia (MA), Maria has worked as a freelance writer and essayist, a news reporter for both commercial and public radio, and a press secretary to a U.S. Congressman.

She lives with her family in Brunswick, where she writes fiction full time.
