Jennifer Ellsworth produces Lunar Datebook, a podcast about the moon, memory, and Maine-based short fiction. Her stories reflect experiences and characters she has encountered as a Waldo County native. Episodes air each new and full moon.
She is also a veteran writer and performer with Ando Anderson’s live variety show, A New Vaudeville Revue. Her skits for this Belfast perennial favorite include “Mona,” “Christmas Death Delivery,” and “Cathartic Karaoke.” You can watch episodes on YouTube.
Her poetry and stories have also been heard from the stages of Shana Bloomstein’s Women’s Works, an annual evening of contemporary dance and True Stories, a story-telling fundraiser for the Midcoast Actors Studio. You can hear her story about breaking into the Coliseum during Pope John Paul’s annual Stations of the Cross blessing in the WERU archives.
Jennifer Ellsworth lives in Jackson. When her first son was born, her husband propped her up on pillows and wrapped her in their wedding quilt in the dog sled behind their snowmobile to take her to the hospital.
