Gin Mackey

Gin Mackey is the author of novels ranging from contemporary fiction to mystery to a madcap caper.

Last Chance Church and Restaurant asks this question: What happens when an outsider joins forces with a ragtag team of Mainers in a mission-impossible attempt to save their dying coastal village by creating a wondrous, magical destination restaurant from an abandoned church?

Kirkus Reviews says it’s “A charming, satisfying story of self-discovery and good-old-fashioned small-town benevolence. …fans of the heartfelt, sentimental stories of Fannie Flagg will find much to enjoy in Mackey’s affectionate world, anchored by newfound friends, steadfast community, and the blush of new beginnings and realized dreams.”

Disappear Our Dead, a midcoast Maine mystery, featuring amateur sleuth and home funeral guide Abby Tiernan. Kirkus Reviews says it “Goes beyond a cozy, small-town mystery to consider…immense and difficult matters.”

She is also author of Suddenly Spying, a madcap caper, described by readers as “laugh-out-loud funny,” “zany,” and “a hoot.”

Gin is a past president of the New England chapter of Sisters in Crime. Her decades-long dream of moving to Maine has come true. She lives on the midcoast in Owls Head, where she’s hard at work on her next novel.
