The Flower Patch Pals published by North Country Press in June 2018 is Gayle L. Plummer’s first book. She has lived in New England all of her life and has resided in Maine for most of her adult life. Gayle has been invited to do readings for children in local libraries and has been extremely pleased to see the children react to and interact with her book; as her little flower characters are designed to be teaching tools and a fun form of entertainment. She also handcrafted several miniature greenhouses that correspond with the book, and donated them to several libraries from Brunswick to the western Maine area, along with copies of the book.
Gayle has honed her writing skills over many years by editing legal documents for attorneys and then medical reports for a hospital. She has done newspaper reporting on human interest pieces for a newspaper in New Hampshire, as well as becoming a copy editor for a newspaper in Maine. Journaling has always been her companion and remains so today. For many years she pursued photography along with writing. Gayle’s sister, who lives in New Hampshire, is the illustrator for the book. Gayle felt it was important to keep this project a New England project; finding a Maine publisher was always part of the plan.
